Tone Mapping Script to Make Your Image Pop

Post#1 by tim » 02 Oct 2017, 15:52

While I was browsing the internet, I ran into this script called Tone Mapping.
It's mentioned in this tutorial -> http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Skies-Beautiful-with-GIMP

:download: http://registry.gimp.org/node/4562

Script Menu Location: Script-Fu > Enhance > Tone Mapping

It's supposed to increase local contrast and reduce global contrast and make your image "pop".

So I tried it and and duplicated the added layer 3 times to increase the effect.
I think it looks pretty cool, especially the sky.

Tin, I agree. This script is nice. It has the ability to adjust the strength of the effect, also.

Pat,
I like how much clearer the land portion of your image looks after tone mapping.
Looks like this tone mapping script is a winner.

Thank you, Tin, for finding the script and sharing. Here is another one. I think it made the flower brighter and more detail.
